The band announced the news via a video on their social media channels. The video includes the text “there will be a show in 2027.”
It doesn’t come as a big surprise that KISS will continue as avatars. The American band introduced their avatars at the beginning of this month, during the group’s very last concert at the Madison Square Garden in New York. Band members Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer left the stage, after which digital versions of the musicians appeared playing the song ‘God Gave Rock And Roll To You’.
The KISS avatars are said to have been created by Industrial Light & Magic, George Lucas’ SFX company, in collaboration with Pophouse Entertainment Group, which was co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus and is behind the Swedish pop group’s avatar show. That show, Voyage, has been on show in London since May 2022.
