Peter Kisfaludy, who is sports coordinator U to A, joined Djurgården IF from IF Brommapojkarna in autumn 2022.
Kisfaludy has a firm eye on Lucas Bergvall – whom he himself trained in BP. On February 2, the midfielder signed for Tottenham – on his 18th birthday.
It’s no secret that national team star Dejan Kulusevski, who belongs to Tottenham, had a hand in the game.
Dejan is amazing and has a huge amount of experience.
– I knew all along that it would be Tottenham. Because I talked to Dejan Kulusevski. I messaged him and said Lucas is coming down, so take good care of him. Dejan is fantastic and has a huge amount of experience despite being only 24 years old. Nobody likes Dejan, says Kisfaludy Sportbladet.
Kisfaludy believes that an earlier meeting between Bergvall and Kulusevski had a big impact.
– It was when Dejan played for Juventus three years ago. When we were down there, we were at Dejan’s house for dinner and it was the first time we met. Now after that it was of course bingo. That Lucas got to sit with Dejan for a whole evening. I think that was important, he tells Sportbladet.
In the end, Bergvall chose between Tottenham and Spanish giants Barcelona.
– He got a better feeling and that is not so strange. When the coach Ange Postecoglou recovers and sits down with him and says that he loves young players and that he will get the chance here if he works hard. Compare that to Barcelona, where you didn’t even know who would coach the team, says Kisfaludy to Sportbladet.
Bergvall’s contract with the English top club runs until the summer of 2029.
