KISALFOLD – A relief was inaugurated on the 115th birthday of Miklós Radnóti in Abdán

On the 115th birthday of Miklós Radnóti, on Sunday, the poet’s relief was inaugurated on the wall of the Zrínyi Ilona Primary School in Abda.

The work of Tibor Podmaniczky and Gyula Krúdy prize-winning sculptor Túri Török was offered as a donation by the Krúdy Literary Circle.

At the event, Zsolt Szabó, the mayor of Abda, revived the life of Radnóti, who was murdered at the border of Abda, in his speech, and then said that the residents of the settlement consider the care of his legacy to be a matter of their heart, and the relief that has just been handed over also helps the students of the school to preserve the memory of the poet. Sándor Németh Nyiba, the head of the literary circle, said that the work was made of ceramics brought from Italy, which has now been placed in the most worthy place.

After the inauguration, the municipality commemorated the poet with a festive program at the Radnót memorial.
