(Relaxnews) – The American channel Showtime has confirmed the order of the second season of its new drama worn by Kirsten Dunst. Still unpublished in France, the series “On Becoming a God in Central Florida” was on August 25 on American television.

With “On Becoming A God in Central Florida”, Kirsten Dunst has won her bet on American television. A month after its launch, the series was granted a second season by its broadcaster Showtime. For the moment, no shooting date or the number of episodes has been revealed by the production.

Worn by Kirsten Dunst and created by Robert Funke and Matt Lutsky, the comedy-drama tells the story of Krystal Stubbs, a young woman employed in a water park in pursuit of her own American dream. The plot is set in the 1990s in Orlando, Florida. With a meager salary, Krystal leads her life as best she can until the day she tries to infiltrate Founders American Merchandise (FAM), a company specializing in scams via a pyramid scheme which had nevertheless put her on the Straw. By dint of lies and shenanigans, the young woman finds a place in the sun in this powerful enterprise led with a masterful hand by Obie Garbeau II. On her way to the top, she meets Cody, one of FAM’s most fervent followers, with whom she develops a complicated relationship.

Produced by George Clooney and Kirsten Dunst alongside Sony’s TriStar Television, the drama premiered August 25 on Showtime. In addition to Kirsten Dunst, Ted Levine, Théodore Pellerin, Mel Rodriguez, Beth Ditto, and Alexander Skarsgård are part of the cast.
