An official head of a state agency will lead the list of “We continue the change”

The leading 25th MIR in Sofia, where party leaders traditionally enter into a direct duel, is currently one of the questions in the lists of the new project “We continue the change”.
There are two options – Kiril Petkov enters a leadership battle with Boyko Borisov from GERB and Cornelia Ninova from BSP or the new project launches a surprising name against both. In this region from “Democratic Bulgaria” will lead Hristo Ivanov.
Finally, the leaders of the lists of the new coalition of the two former caretaker ministers Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev should become clear on Sunday. However, the former finance minister would be a leader in the 24th metropolitan MIR and in Haskovo. And Petkov will lead in Plovdiv, where there will certainly be a direct battle with Borisov.
The lists of “We continue the change” include another iconic person from the official cabinet – the head of the State Forest Agency Alexander Dunchev. Yesterday, with a post on Facebook, he announced that he was going on unpaid leave and was joining the campaign of his former colleagues in the Yanev 1 office.
Dunchev caused a stir with the action he organized in the summer at the state hunting farm Iskar, during which illegal buildings related to the company of businessman Rumen Gaitanski-Valka were found, one of which is known as the “winter barns of Valka”. The signal was given by the co-chair of the Green Movement, Vladislav Panev, who is part of Democratic Bulgaria.

I saw how much can be done for forests if one has the freedom to make decisions that are objective and professional. In order to protect forests, we need not only control and sanctions, but above all decent people, and they are becoming less and less, expelled and demotivated for a number of reasons, Dunchev explained to 24 Chasa. He said that his colleagues at all levels had fear and anxiety. We need to generate the greatest possible public interest in forests, and this goes through a political campaign and elections. Change can be done with super-brave people like Cyril and Assen, he added.
An ecologist is also included in the BSP lists. The leader of Ecoglasnost PC is expected Emil Georgiev to be second after the leader Cornelia Ninova in the 25th MIR as a partner in the big left coalition.
The BSP was the first party to approve and announce its leaders last week. This weekend, the National Council is expected to rule on the full red lists, as well as to fill the seats of the civic quota and coalition partners.

The surgeon and until recently head of “Pirogov” will take the second elective place in the 23rd MIR, where again the leader will be the chairman of the UDF Rumen Hristov. Baltov received strong support from Borissov after it became clear that he had been fired from the hospital. One of the reasons he lost his post as director was that he got into the former prime minister’s jeep in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Leadership changes from GERB are made in Pleven and Ruse.
The surgeon Prof. Grigor Gorchev, who was the leader in the previous two votes, is currently in a difficult procedure to become an academician at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Therefore, the Pleven list will most likely be led by the new regional coordinator Valeri Lachovski. In the previous elections, he took fourth place on the list and won a seat in the 46th parliament.
In Ruse, former Sports Minister Krasen Kralev will be replaced as leader by the party’s parliamentary group chairwoman Desislava Atanasova. She became one of the few double leaders. Apart from the Danube town, Atanasova retained her position in Razgrad, where she was a member of the 46th National Assembly. Kralev will be in second place in the list of his native Varna, where he will be first again Prof. Kostadin Angelov. The former health minister remains a leader in Veliko Tarnovo as well.

GERB is backing away from the idea of rejuvenating the lists, which was leading in the previous elections. Many of the young people who had high expectations of attracting new voters have sunk down the list or are not present at all.
However, elective positions in the capital’s lists have been given to the chairman of GERB-youth Georg Georgiev, who was a member of the last two parliaments and previously served as deputy foreign minister.
