“In our coalition, we have a clear agreement, which we respect. At the same time, I, as prime minister, have no right in any way, nor will I try to make any agreements.”

This was said by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov from the parliamentary rostrum in response to the MRF, whether it is true that he himself agreed with the RSM to agree to continue their negotiations for joining the EU before June.

“We have a framework position, a declaration. Every decision must happen with the votes not only of the ruling party, but also of the opposition. No decision will be made without the National Assembly,” Petkov said.

The current situation in Ukraine has made the PCM case even more delicate. As you know, the Western Balkans are also a region at risk and we must all realize that their security is of great importance to Bulgaria. We must approach this decision with great responsibility. The good thing is that the EC has stated that they are ready to be a guarantor of the rights of Bulgarians in the RSM, Kiril Petkov recalled yesterday’s meeting with EC chief Ursula von der Leyen, who promised the rights of the Bulgarian minority in the RSM to be included in the negotiating chapters. its membership in the EU.

We must be sure that all the rights of the Bulgarians in the RSM are respected and the negotiating framework will contribute to this good neighborliness, Petkov was categorical.

There is no Bulgarian minority in the RSM. We do not want such recognition. We want the recognition of the constitutional status of a nation-building people. These are two very different things. One must be very careful with public speaking, because this can lead to a request for reciprocal rights, and the Bulgarian constitution recognizes only individual rights, warned Daniel Mitov of GERB.
