/ world today news/ Two of the iconic faces of the BSP – Kiril Dobrev and Dragomir Stoynev brought together businesses from both sides of the Balkans on the same day. Dobrev leads the list of BSP Leva Bulgari in the Gabrovo region, and Stoinev is the leader in the neighboring Starozagorsk region.
“We will not raise taxes and we will not make a power economy like GERB. We are for a strong economy.” – said the former Minister of Economy and Energy Dragomir Stoynev at a meeting with entrepreneurs in Kazanlak.
“Business-state relations should only be talked about in numbers. Everything else is empty talk,” said Stoynev. He recalled that at the beginning of Oresharski’s administration, nearly BGN 2.5 billion actually entered the Bulgarian business – overdue obligations from the state under already concluded contracts and unpaid European funds.
Later, Stoynev crossed the Stara Planina to meet the businessmen from Gabrovo and Sevlievo, gathered at a special meeting by Kiril Dobrev.
Local entrepreneurs and members of the business association “Sevlievo 21st Century” admitted that during Stoynev’s term as minister, the economic environment for investments in Bulgaria had stabilized. We do not want a repeat of the business situation of two years ago – repression, extortion, fear and uncertainty – was the main comment during the meeting.
“Did we return BGN 600 million VAT to the business on time? Have we paid all the payments withheld by the state at the time of GERB? We have done it and we have the ambition to continue working and being punctual with the business.” Stoinev said.
To the businessmen from the region, Kiril Dobrev emphasized that the policy of stabilizing the business environment will continue, because security in this sphere is the main priority of the socialists.
In the next parliament, the BSP will be a business-savvy ruling party or an opposition that respects the ruling party. I know that, in addition to GERB, business is also harassed by frequent elections, as well as the uncertainty they cause,” Dobrev also said.
Kiril Dobrev is not coming anywhere for a while, there has not been a more active campaign in Gabrovo than his, the region has always been in a dead end for the left and his appearance here means that GERB’s monopoly here has been broken, regardless of what the election results will be – this was the main comment during the meeting in Gabrovo.
“Without a working economy, there is no strong country. We have achieved economic growth, 50,000 new jobs, higher incomes and security for people and businesses. We will continue to improve these metrics. We will focus our efforts on the creation of qualified personnel, which the business needs, because it turns out that this is one of the main problems in the Gabrovo region”, commented Kiril Dobrev. For their part, the business representatives called on the candidates for people’s representatives to vote in the parliament on a cross-party basis for the important projects, as they have already seen Kiril Dobrev do.
“You are the first socialist who first talks about business and then about social policy. We appreciate your understanding that without a strong economy, there is no way to have an adequate social policy”, the attendees also shared.
