Kirchheim – The Kirchheimer SC state league footballers want to confirm their upward trend and in today’s home game (8 p.m.) against SSV Eggenfelden they want to score three more points in the fight for league status.

The mortgage of the messed up start to the season with only two points from the first eleven games weighs heavily, but at Kirchheimer SC they are going into the remaining five finals in the relegation battle with great confidence. “We’re just all up for the decisive games, because everything is looking better in terms of personnel,” says KSC player coach Steven Toy, who returned to team training earlier than expected after his ankle injury. The recently injured Matthias Ecker is also on the way to the squad, he was recently thrown back by a corona infection. It is not yet clear whether Ivan Babic, who has returned from vacation, or Martin Egner is in the box. Toy: “I’ll discuss that again in detail with goalkeeper trainer Sascha Jager.”

Kirchheimer – they are third from bottom with 29 points – were able to win three of the last five games. In the second half of the season they have already gained five points more than in the entire first half of the season. An upward trend is therefore unmistakable. “In the next few days there will be a lot of movement in the lower third of the table,” Toy suspects, looking at the encounters of the competition in the upcoming round and the subsequent catch-up games. “But first and foremost it’s about us, we have to take the next step.”

Opponent SSV Eggenfelden (37 points) is still in tenth place and will do everything possible to win an away game for the first time since October 16, 2021 (5-1 in Töging). “The team plays very disciplined,” says Toy about the promoted team. “They are very low and shift well. It will be exciting to see how we can crack them in the back.” guv
