The Montreal Canadiens managed to get a point on Saturday, losing 4-3 in a shootout against the New York Islanders.
But with a 2-3-1 record (5 points) so far, they are still a little short of .500 after six games.

In short, on Saturday, does the analyst see the glass half full or half empty?
“I’m more of a positive person. So I see it as half full,” he says.
“Four consecutive defeats are not necessarily acceptable. Are we proud and happy with certain performances? The last performance, I think so.”
On Saturday, there were nine waves of players in shootouts. But coach Martin St-Louis didn’t use Kirby Dach. Surprising, or not?
“It’s true that it should have been used, I think. (..) Maybe the coach wanted to go with those who deserved it more. It’s only Martin who can answer it. It’s clear that Kidby Dach has the talent to score, but he didn’t play last year.
“In Dallas, Jamie Benn was used all the time in the shootout and he wasn’t good. He never scored, but he never practiced either. Then, he’s an excellent player. He’s one of my good friends. But the coach kept sending him because he was the best player on the team.
“You have to read between the lines. There’s a little message there. And then, when you think back to his match and his start to the season, the Canadiens didn’t want to put his fate in his hands and that’s correct.
