Kirby and the Forgotten Land was rated ESRB • Nintendo Connect

Kirby and the Forgotten Land was surprisingly announced for Nintendo Switch during the last major Nintendo Direct in September – however, due to a leak from Nintendo, we knew about it a day earlier. The game also seems to have been in development for a number of years, and has even received information an age rating by the ESRB. The publication therefore doesn’t seem far away.

The ESRB was founded in 1994 and evaluates computer and console games in the United States and Canada. Like the PEGI, the ESRB only makes a recommendation and is therefore a pure self-regulatory body for the games industry without any legal obligation. The rating of the games is voluntary, but is now simply part of it, so that almost all games that appear in the USA are rated accordingly. For Kirby and Forgotten Land the rating authority gave the rating “E10 +” (everyone from 10 years and older).

There is currently no official release date. Kirby’s new 3D adventure Kirby and the Forgotten Land should be released for Nintendo Switch in spring 2022. Maybe in February or March – in time for the hybrid console’s next birthday!

The ESRB also gave us a vague description of the game:

This is an action-adventure game in which players help Kirby save kidnapped creatures from evil forces. Players traverse 3D platforms as they collect coins, solve puzzles, and use Kirby’s skills to battle cartoon opponents (e.g. mushrooms, foxes, giant tortoises). Players use swords, bombs, and blaster pistols to defeat enemies; Some weapons allow players to use aiming / reticule for long range fire. Boss fights can be hectic, with laser fire, explosions, and projectiles flying at Kirby, often up close.

What can Kirby expect in this mysterious environment full of abandoned structures from a bygone civilization? Check out the game’s announcement trailer again here:
