The Uri director is celebrating his Swiss debut this week with the action thriller “No Way Up”. A passenger plane crashes into the sea and only a few people survive. The wreckage sinks to the bottom and the community of fate is left to fend for itself in an air bubble inside the plane. The local premiere on Saturday in Altdorf will be followed by further screenings in Stans on August 22nd. The film, which was made in England, will continue to be shown there.

Fäh, who lives with his family in Los Angeles, most recently directed the season finale of the SRF series “Wilder” with Sarah Spale and held his own alongside “Platzspitz Baby” director Pierre Monard. Now he unleashes a dramatic fight for survival in a chamber play beneath the water’s surface. The gripping staging in the huge studio water tank makes the accident seem real at all times. The Altdorf native has not yet implemented the understanding of how to tell an exciting story in pictures with such perfection. (zvg)
