We have already informed you several times here about nice deals on SSDs Kingston NV2 with 1TB capacity. Now the 2TB model has become significantly cheaper, Smarty.cz only sells it for 1829 CZK. Two-tier SSDs can be bought a hundred times cheaper, but they will be models for SATA or PCIe 3.0 interfaces. The Kingston NV2 runs on PCIe 4.0, so it will also work in the PlayStation 5.
And it is precisely for games that this SSD is most suitable. It lacks a DRAM cache, which slows down writing, and uses QLC-type cells, which have a worse endurance in terms of the number of rewrites. On a gaming computer or console, where it will be primarily read, but these disadvantages will not stand out so much.
Kingston NV2 is produced in the full M.2 2280 format and, due to the price, it also comes without any cooler (sold from 150 CZK). The manufacturer promises sequential reading of up to 3.5 GB/s and writing of up to 2.8 GB/s, which are half the values of the fastest models for PCIe 4.0, but practical tests show that this does not mean any significant difference in games yet. There is a three-year warranty on the SSD.
If you would like something faster (7/7 GB/s, with DRAM cache), more durable (TLC cells) and a five-year warranty, a good choice is the sister model Kingston KC3000, which is sold in the 2TB version from CZK 2,800.
