SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – Richaun Holmes had a career-high 23 points and 20 boards, and the Sacramento Kings hit 22 3-pointers to beat the Charlotte Hornets 140-110 on Friday night.
Two nights after he was pulled out of the game early in the third period for accumulating a foul and two technical fouls, Holmes made a good 9 of 12 shots from the field and provided two assists.
Buddy Hield hit eight 3-pointers for a total of 26 points, and De’Aaron Fox had 12 points and nine assists for the Kings’ cause.
Gordon Heyward was Charlotte’s best scorer with 25 points. LaMello Ball had 24 points and 13 assists.
The Kings had a 10-plus point lead in the first quarter and never lost it while dealing the Hornets their fourth loss in five games.
Sacramento was up 54-27 midway through the second period and built a 19-point lead early in the fourth quarter when Charlotte unleashed her biggest offense.
