DEVENTER – On Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 April 2023, the Deventer King’s Festival will take place at the Brink. The event attracted more than 20,000 visitors in 2022 and will once again turn the most beautiful square in Deventer orange during King’s Night and King’s Day this year. The organization (consisting of the Deventer Stadsfestival, Brink Events, the Hip and the Deventer Oranje Vereniging) places a large stage in the middle of the Brink, where the entire program is accessible for free.
The popular live act Broederliefde has been booked for King’s Night. The successful formation has a track record of gold/platinum records and dominates the charts with the hit single ‘Stunten’. Other artists during King’s Night include Giocatori, Rhandy Bishop, Onderkoffer, Vieze Vedi and SGT Friendly. The program starts at 6 p.m. and is free to attend.
King’s Day is traditionally kicked off with the dress market that spreads over the entire Brink and various streets in the center. There is entertainment for children and you can entertain yourself for hours from early in the morning looking for treasures and bargains.
Live music starts in the afternoon. For example, during the Undercover sessions you can sing along to the music of ABBA, Doe Maar and David Bowie, among others. In between the live acts there will be music by Rhandy Bishop, Robbert Bouw and Riva Soull. The music program starts at 3:00 PM and lasts until about midnight.
