In a press release relating to the so-called “Malian” affair in which the president of the Wydad football club in Casablanca, but also a parliamentarian from the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) Saïd Naciri, as well as the Pamist president of the region of l’Oriental, Abdenbi Bioui are indicted, the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Casablanca indicated, without however specifying the identity, that the investigating judge decided the incarceration of 20 people out of the 25 referred to the public prosecutor’s office, some of whom are parliamentarians, officials of local authorities or responsible for law enforcement, in addition to others presumed to be involved with one of the detainees, of foreign nationality, having been prosecuted in a case of international drug trafficking and is currently serving his sentence in prison.
The results of the investigations carried out by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police, under the supervision of the public prosecutor, to determine the other people suspected of being involved in this case, he stressed, revealed suspicions as to the participation of certain people to the commission of acts linked, for the most part, to the same facts in connection with which the aforementioned foreign national and other individuals, having links with him, had already been prosecuted and sentenced to custodial sentences .
The King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Casablanca noted that given the complexity of these acts and the tangle of their ramifications, the investigations took the necessary time, in full compliance with the legal provisions therein. related and under the direct supervision of this public prosecutor.
He added that the results of the investigations led to the appearance before the public prosecutor’s office of 25 people, some of whom are parliamentarians, officials of local authorities or responsible for law enforcement, in addition to other individuals who committed actions related to the case.
In consecration of the principle of equality before the law, he continued, the results of the examination of the investigations carried out led to the presentation by the public prosecutor of a request to the investigating judge in order to conduct an investigation with these people for suspicion of commission, by each of them, of acts for which they are accused by the law and whose legal qualification generally concerns several crimes.
This concerns participation in an agreement for the possession of drugs, their marketing, their transport, their export and their attempted export, corruption and falsification of an official document, the direct exercise of a drug activity. control infringing on personal and individual freedom with a view to satisfying personal whims, obtaining, under duress, documents attesting to acts and discharges, facilitating the exit and entry of Moroccans to and from the Moroccan territory on a regular basis as part of a gang, as well as the agreement and concealment of objects obtained following a crime.
After their preliminary interrogation, the press release said, the investigating judge decided to incarcerate twenty of them and place another under judicial supervision, while the public prosecutor instructed the competent judicial police to continue the investigations. against the four other people in order to elucidate certain aspects of the facts linked to this case, emphasizing that once the ordered investigations are completed, the public prosecutor will also work to take the necessary measures against them.
Furthermore, the public prosecutor’s office will continue, within the framework of the right of access to information, to inform public opinion of the results of the investigation procedures once completed, in strict compliance with the provisions of the law, in concretization of the rule of law, while guaranteeing respect for the presumption of innocence.
