The king boarded at Europaplein station and drove to Rokin station. He looked at the stop for a moment before getting on again to the North terminal station.

“That gentleman looks familiar to me, but who is it again?” A woman asked one of the escorts of the royal party. The king is not on the metro every day, so such a question is not surprising. Half of his face was of course also covered by a mouth mask.
Nevertheless, a number of travelers immediately recognized Willem-Alexander and picked up the phone for a photo. Others were too busy with their phones to notice the whole scene.
Satisfied
Willem-Alexander chatted with several people at the stops and during the ride. He wanted to know what they think of the ‘new’ line. Most were very satisfied.
“It brought the city closer, although it took a while for the line to be there,” said a lady from Amsterdam-Noord. The king knew that too: the construction took from 2003 to 2018.
