Willem Alexander
The king was surprised by presenter Manon Hoijtink with a sweater that was knitted through Zapp Your Planetviewers Jonah and Julia. “Very beautiful and colorful”, the king responded to the large garment that consisted of all kinds of different compartments. “I have many favorite colors, but I think it’s definitely one of them.”
Willem-Alexander is impressed by the young makers and thinks Warm Sweater Day is a great initiative anyway. “You put on a warm sweater and that is a very small contribution, but if you add everything together it is a big contribution to energy savings,” he told Manon.

Warm Sweater Day
There is no heating at home palace Huis ten Bosch, because the king likes a cold house. Still, Willem-Alexander wants to participate in Warm Sweater Day on Friday, he said during a video conversation with the young knitters. “Actually, you should do it all through the winter so that you have 1 or 2 degrees less all winter. But I think Warm Sweater Day is important enough to participate. ”
The king himself has not yet climbed into the knitting needles. “Unfortunately I have to answer no to that,” he said with a laugh when Jonah asked him if he can knit himself. “But if you can knit that well, it would be a bit of a waste of my time, because you did such a fantastic job.”
