The best starting eleven, the best half – the best solution..
United’s evening at Molineaux ended in the ultimate way: Late dream goal by a young player of our own who has taken us by storm in recent months.Â
Kobbie Mainoo, 18, caused millions of fans around the world to unite in a unison shout of joy.
Enastående:
- The match! Not only because United produced their best half in about a year, but because the script was written for that particular ending. And although a safe 3-0 win is always preferable, a 4-3 goal 90+7 is hard to top.Â
- Cobby. Always. Not only because of his stunts in connection with the goal, but because he, as an 18-year-old with so little experience, should not be so confident with the ball and in the positional game.Â
- The first half, as I said, was the best we have seen from United in at least a year. With a little more fluency, concentration and focus, the 5-0 lead would not have been completely up the walls at the break.Â
- Now we have scored as many goals as Luton!Â
Hög Unitedklass:
- The defensive game in the first half. Wolves basically had nothing. Could it have to do with two world champions as centre-backs? Lisandro just must not be injured again as he is perhaps United’s single most important player.Â
- Nor should we forget the Denis Irwin of the 2020s. Luke Shaw usually takes care of the left wing on his own (Rashford is not particularly keen to work at home) and gives enormous security to the team.Â
- Rashford must – rightfully so – be questioned. But his 1-0 was superb.Â
- Scott McTominay is just as questionable, but as long as he stays in the opponents’ penalty area, he is welcome to make his guest appearances. Inexcusable of Wolves to leave him alone there.Â
- Omari Forson’s contribution in connection with Kobbie’s magic. Another talent of his own
Not in top form:
- Bruno Fernandes had an extremely difficult evening. The captain could (should) have scored a couple of goals and in addition his “pass” to Garnacho at the end of the first half was one of the worst made in the 2000s. At the same time, you have to take the bad with the good when it comes to a high-risk player like Fernandes.Â
- Casemiro drove a legscissor after three minutes and then he was 5/10 for the rest of the match. He still looks tired, defensive, the brass. Offensively, he is still a threat.Â
- We can all agree that Andre Onana – who went to the African championships, played one game, conceded two goals, saved zero shots and went home again – does not instill confidence. Now he has almost half a year with the club and I have more confidence in Altay who stood for 90 minutes.Â
Disaster:
- Antony’s entry. A car crash from start to finish. Must have been the last time he went before Amad. I’m starting to think more and more that he is the worst signing United made. Ever.Â
- The penalty decision. Horrible in so many ways: It’s okay that the referee on the field was deceived by the case, but when the referee sits and runs replays on replays and states that “that was completely mad” tt†then something is completely crazy. So grateful that VAR does not exist in Swedish football.Â
- You should not be able to be countered after a corner in 90+5 when you are in the lead. It shouldn’t be possible.Â
Sist:
- West Ham on Sunday. The battle for sixth place continues unabated. With this starting eleven, we can very well reach the Europa League! Â
