The king is still recovering, but the sick leave is extended until 16 May.
King Harald is currently on sick leave until 16 May.
– The king is still recovering, but will be admitted to Rikshospitalet for a few more days, the royal house writes in a press release.
Earlier this week, the king was admitted to Rikshospitalet after being diagnosed with an infection.
VG has been in contact with the Royal Palace, but they have no more information than what appears in the press release.
Crown Prince Haakon has previously said that he does not know if the king will make it to the 17 May celebrations this year.
– I think he himself certainly hopes to be back by 17 May, but we must follow the doctors’ recommendations and take the time it takes, said the crown prince.
During a speech at the castle on Thursday evening, Crown Prince Haakon said that the king was on the road to recovery.
This is not the first time the king has been admitted to hospital as a result of an infection.
In December, the king had to be treated with intravenous antibiotics. He had to do the same in August, after he was admitted for an investigation of a fever.
Both times the king was discharged from the hospital again after a few days.
