This week, however, the sick leave has been extended, and the king has been removed from the official program for the second week in a row on the royal house’s website.
The castle’s communications manager, Guri Varpe, can confirm this to Dagbladet.
– His Majesty is still on sick leave, she informs.
As King Harald’s sick leave is extended, Crown Prince Haakon (48) must step in for the king on a number of assignments.
The Crown Prince must, among other things, receive Erik Hillestad in the audience, receive representatives from the Norwegian Veterans Association for International Operations in the audience, receive the Italian Ambassador Mr. Alberto Colella and Rachelle Esterhazy in the audience.

Was reported sick
Two weeks ago, however, the king was reported sick with cold symptoms, after meeting Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt. Huitfeldt tested positive for corona after she had been to an audience at the Palace, where she met the royals.
Shortly afterwards, during the opening of the exhibition “State of the Art” by Bjørn Ransve at Haugar Art Museum in Tønsberg, Queen Sonja could tell that the king had tested negative for corona.

– It’s going very well, fortunately. “It’s just a mild cold with a sore throat,” the queen told reporters.
And earlier this week, there was a new update from the royal family.
– His Majesty the King has over the weekend taken several corona tests, all of which are negative. The king still has a cold, but is on the road to recovery, said assistant communications manager at the Palace, Sven Gj Gjeruldsen, to Dagbladet.
