The Christmas traditions of the royal family
– It’s really absurd that there is a war in Europe in 2022. It’s actually the last thing I thought would happen.

There has been a long-standing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which started after the latter took over the Crimea peninsula in 2014. When Vladimir Putin (70) and Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February this year , war was a fact.
– A slightly different time before Christmas
A number of people became concerned when, a few days before Christmas, it became known that King Harald had been admitted to the National Hospital. Luckily it didn’t take long before he was discharged again, and already on Christmas day he appeared for the first time after his hospital stay.
Then the king appeared at the traditional Christmas service in the Holmenkollen chapel. Also in attendance were Queen Sonja (85), Crown Prince Haakon (49), Crown Princess Mette-Marit (49) and Princess Ingrid Alexandra (18).
Confronted with NTB, the king was also able to reassure those worried about his health, and replied that he was doing “quite well”.
