King Harald of Norway Advises Military Members – ‘Don’t Ask Why, Just Do It!’

– Don’t ask too much about why, said the king to a gathered press corps, which responded with laughter.

The King and Crown Prince Haakon met the press on Tuesday after a visit to Faktisk.no in Pressens hus in Oslo.

There he was asked, among other things, what tips he would share with his granddaughter Princess Ingrid Alexandra, who recently started her first service in the engineer battalion at Skjold camp in Indre Troms.

– You get a lot of orders that you don’t understand the point of. Then you don’t have to ask why. Just do it, is the king’s clear call.

You get further in the military with that than being in the opposition, he believes.

The king himself started his military career at the commander’s school in the cavalry. Crown Prince Haakon, on the other hand, had his first service in the navy.

King Harald is formally the supreme commander of the Norwegian Armed Forces. Crown Prince Haakon is a general and admiral.
