King Charles made a harsh decision – 2024-08-21 00:17:45

New insider information is being shared about the dispute between the royal brothers.

King Charles has been fighting for a long time with his brother, Prince Andrew, over where he lives.

Even at the moment, Prince Andrew lives in the Royal Lodge on the grounds of Windsor, from which Charles has tried unsuccessfully to evict his brother. Now the dispute between the brothers is possibly coming to some sort of resolution by October. The British newspaper Daily Mail reports about it.

The Daily Mail reports that King Charles has fired his brother’s ten-strong private security team. It is thought that this solution will finally make the Duke of York leave the mansion.

Royal Lodge, worth 30 million pounds, or around 35 million euros, has been Andrew’s home for almost 20 years. He shares his 30-room home with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

Court insiders tell The Sun that the Security Team has not left immediately. The source says their contracts expire at the end of October, and it is not believed that anyone has been hired to replace them.

– Everyone is speculating that this means the duke will have to leave. What other reason could there be for dismissing the Security Team? source estimates.

– It’s no secret that the king wants him out, the source added.

It has already been revealed that Prince Andrew has no desire to move. In 2003, Andrew entered into a 75-year lease of the Royal Lodge with The Crown Estate at the time.

Consequently, the King has no authority to evict, as he does not actually own the Royal Lodge. When he moved in, Andrew paid a £1 million down payment, plus he pays around £260,000 in annual rent for the mansion.

However, the manor is said to need renovation, and the renovation bill would already rise to 7 million pounds with this information. It is known that Andrew cannot afford the maintenance and renovation costs of the mansion.

– Andrew is not going anywhere. He has an ironclad lease, the duke’s relatives reportedly said back in January.

According to the claims, Charles would like his brother out so he could rent out the mansion for around £1 million a year. The king has asked his brother to move into Frogmore Cottage, previously occupied by Harry and Meghan

According to what was previously reported, Charles would have wanted to make the Royal Lodge available to Prince William and his family. William and Catherine apparently refused, saying they were content with their lives at Adelaide Cottage.

According to the lease, Andrew is responsible for refurbishing and maintaining the Royal Lodge, which is falling into disrepair. It has previously emerged that Andrew would not even be able to pay the £400,000 maintenance costs of the mansion.

Already at the beginning of the summer, according to insider sources, the king resorted to the threat of breaking the ties in order to get his brother to leave.

“Unfortunately, if Andrew refuses to leave in a reasonable time window, the king will have to withdraw all financial support and the prince would then have to pay the lion’s share of the security arrangements, housing and lifestyle himself, which is not possible in the longer term,” a friend told The Times.

– Everyone thinks about Andrew’s well-being and wishes him well, but even patience has its limits. At this point the Royal Lodge becomes a very cold and unpleasant place for the Duke.
