King Charles in Australia, unscheduled in Canberra: an alpaca sneezes on the Sovereign. VIDEO

There were over a thousand people and a “naughty” alpaca greeting King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Australian war memorial in Canberra. The latter is nine years old and his name is Hepner, in honor of the founder of Playboy Hugh Hefner, and he has already become a star on social media after the episode which saw him as the protagonist of a funny scene together with King Charles.

Hepner, dressed in a suit and a crown on her head, waited for hours with her owner, Robert Fletcher, outside the memorial, to greet the royal couple during their one-day visit to the capital.

“He has many clothes, and we saved this one especially for today – Fletcher told the local press -. A king meets another king.”

And so it was. During a 30-minute walk to greet the crowd, Carlo stopped to pet the alpaca, which responded with a gesture that has gone viral in the last few hours: sneezing on the sovereign.

King Charles’ reaction

The monarch reacted by jumping backwards but laughing, he played down the situation with a joke and checked his dress to see whether the sneeze had dirtied it or not.

Fletcher later told the local press that “the king looked at me in disbelief, but that’s just what Hephner does. He’s an alpaca, after all. He doesn’t bite or spit, and he’s always well-behaved. He’s also a pro-monarchy alpaca!” .
