King Charles III Undergoing Treatment for Enlarged Prostate, Princess Kate Admitted to Hospital for Surgery

Buckingham Palace announced on Wednesday that King Charles III is being treated for an enlarged prostate and will undergo a therapeutic intervention next week.

A palace statement said: “Like thousands of men every year, the king receives treatment for prostate enlargement.”

He added, “The King of Britain’s condition is benign and he will be admitted to the hospital next week for a corrective operation.”

The statement added that the 75-year-old king’s obligations will be postponed “for a short period to recover.”

Charles was officially crowned on May 6, 8 months after he ascended the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022.

He is the oldest person to ascend the throne of Britain, having remained the crown prince for the longest period.

The king, whose mother died at the age of 96 and his father at the age of 99, enjoys generally good health despite being infected with the Corona virus twice and with sports injuries when he was younger.

The palace statement came an hour after it was revealed that Princess of Wales Kate, wife of the heir to the British throne, William, was admitted to the hospital, on Tuesday, in London to undergo a “pre-scheduled” surgery, as the British royal circles announced on Wednesday, explaining that she may not resume her public duties. Before the end of March.

Kensington Palace said in a statement that the 42-year-old Princess of Wales “was admitted to the London Clinic to undergo a previously scheduled abdominal surgery.”

The statement indicated that “the operation was successful and she is expected to remain in the hospital for a period ranging between 10 and 14 days.”
