King Charles III is facing a difficult situation due to his packed schedule leading up to his historic coronation ceremony. With concerns over his well-being, the 74-year-old monarch has reportedly set himself a strict 6pm curfew in the leadup to the event and will not attend any royal duties after this time, in order to get a good night’s sleep. Despite hosting a reception for Commonwealth leaders on May 5 and a dinner for world leaders that evening at Buckingham Palace, Charles is taking all pre-emptive measures to avoid missing his own coronation. Sleep specialist Dr Sophie Bostock advises against changing one’s routine before a big event, as it can interfere with internal body clocks and cause stress and anxiety. Instead, she suggests visualizing success at the event to calm the mind.
