His first official meeting since it was announced that he was diagnosed with cancer was held by King Charles. As it was announced, he met on Wednesday (21/02) with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
During the meeting King Charles spoke about his health adventure and revealed that he was moved by the messages of support he received. “I received so many wonderful messages and cards (…) most of the time I was in tears” said Charles.
For his part, the Prime Minister of Britain answered him “Everyone’s rooting for you”.
Charles’ joke
It is worth noting that this time the cameras were allowed to capture footage from the start of the meeting. Today was Charles’ first official hearing with Sunak since it was revealed the king is suffering from an unspecified form of cancer.
Buckingham Palace has assured that the king will continue to carry out his official duties while he undergoes treatment. Sunak began the conversation by telling King Charles that it was wonderful to see him looking so well.
“Everything is done with mirrors” Charles joked.
