King Charles has the first day of rest since his mother’s death. The monarch is spending a “private day of reflection” at his Highgrove House estate in Gloucestershire, according to British media.
Detailed planning for the aftermath of the Queen’s death, Operation London Bridge, already predicted that Charles would have a day off. Although the king won’t appear in public on Thursday, he is reportedly working at home for a while.

Since Elizabeth’s death, the new king has been busy. He appeared every day in the public eye. On Wednesday, the king accompanied his mother’s coffin to London’s Westminster Hall. There Elizabeth lies in her state until her funeral on Monday.

Charles will be in Wales on Friday for Elizabeth II’s funeral. What Saturday and Sunday will be like for the king has not yet been announced.
