King Charles and Queen Camilla’s First Public Appearance Since Cancer Diagnosis

King Charles and Queen Camilla were photographed leaving their Clarence House in an SUV heading to Buckingham Palace. From here, ten minutes after their arrival, a helicopter left which should take the couple to Sandringham, one of the royal residences in Norfolk, as reported by the BBC and Sky News. It is the first time the king has appeared in public, smiling, since his cancer diagnosis was made known. The royal standard has been lowered at Buckingham Palace and now flies the flag of the United Kingdom, meaning the king is no longer in the residence.

Meanwhile, Carlo spent the first night in his residence after starting the outpatient anti-cancer therapy. Buckhingham Palace did not provide details on the type of tumor that affected the monarch, limiting itself to nipping speculation in the bud on the possible link between the disease and the prostate surgery he underwent at the end of January. If anything, the checks carried out during the surgical operation served to identify the tumor which now requires Carlo to reduce his public commitments.
