LONDON, KOMPAS.com – British parents have been urged not to give their children snacks chocolate eggs children A certain surprise because of the possibility of having Salmonella.
The UK’s Food Standards Agency (FSA) says the “eggs” have a potential link to the outbreak Salmonella of which 57 cases have been identified, with more than three-quarters of which are children aged five years or younger.

The chocolate manufacturer said the egg product was made in Belgium.
The company said in a statement that Ferrero was cooperating with the UK’s Food Standards Agency and the Irish Food Safety Authority on possible links to the cases. Salmonella reported.
“Though none of our Kinder products released to the market have tested positive Salmonellaand we do not accept consumer complaints, we take this very seriously because customer service is our top priority,” said a statement from Ferrero.
“We take food safety issues very seriously and we sincerely apologize for the trouble,” the statement added.
The recall of the chocolate egg product comes just a few weeks before Easter, when Ferrero is likely hoping to boost sales.
Confirming the recall of the chocolate egg product, the FSA said, “This relates to a potential link to the outbreak Salmonella. A number of these cases occur in children.”

“To further reduce the risk of disease, consumers should not eat the product listed in the recall warning and they/parents or guardians of children should follow the risk advice therein,” the FSA statement added.
The UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA) has also tweeted that Ferrero has recalled the Kinder Surprise eggs selected because of the possible presence of Salmonella.
“If you have purchased any of the products below, do not eat them,” the agency advised.
The agency also encourages people who have purchased any of the products to contact Ferrero for a refund.
The relationship between poisoning cases Salmonella reported and Kinder eggs were found following an investigation led by UKHSA, Public Health Scotland, Public Health Wales and the Public Health Agency in Northern Ireland.
The FSA said all the eggs were produced in the same factory.
Other Ferrero products are not expected to be affected.
Ferrero has recalled selected batches of Kinder Surprise eggs because of the possible presence of salmonella.

Bacteria Salmonella can cause food poisoning and symptoms usually include diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and fever.
The disease tends to go away after a few days, but symptoms can be more severe and lead to hospital admission, especially in the very young and those with weakened immune systems.
