Kincl vs. Vémola 2 Weigh-in: Both Fighters Make Weight for Oktagon 43 Main Event

Kincl vs. Title Match Vémola 2 is official. Both fighters have met the weight limit, and nothing stands in the way of their clash. Their clash is the main match of the Oktagon 43 tournament. The public weigh-in will take place today from 18:00 in Galeria Harfa.

The head of Octagon told us a few days ago that Karlos Vémola will go through hell when losing weight for the rematch with Patrik Kincle. And he was right. It was an extremely difficult weight loss for the “Terminator”, as he last weighed in at middleweight (up to 84 kg) at the end of 2020. However, he accomplished his task perfectly today. He weighed 83.7 kg. However, as he later revealed himself, he had to lose an incredible 12 kilograms since the previous day.

Kincl: I’ll kill him

“I had about 12 kilos left yesterday. A lot of people said I wouldn’t make the weight. But I’m here and I’ve met the weight. The harder the weight loss, the easier the match. Tomorrow I will be a double champion” declared a visibly exhausted Vémola, who holds the light heavyweight belt and will challenge Kincla for the belt in the middle division on Saturday at the O2 arena.

“If you come to support us today at the public weigh-in, I will be very grateful.” Vémola told the fans. The public weighing will take place on 5/19 from 6:00 p.m. in the Harfa Gallery.

Middleweight champion Patrik Kincl weighed in at 83.8 kilograms and looked a bit more vital compared to his rival. He can’t wait for the expected revenge. “It’s been almost five years, it’s crazy. I’m happy as a pig. I will kill him. I will kill him one hundred percent,” Kincl said confidently. “It’s something I’ve been chasing all along. I thought it was lost, but here it is. Perseverance, tenacity and discipline will always get you where you want to go.” he added.

Fighters get the last kilograms from the body by so-called dehydration, when they try to sweat out as much fluid as possible and, conversely, take in as little as possible. The goal is to quickly replenish the lost weight after the weigh-in and gain a weight advantage over the opponent in the match.

In the past, we talked about extreme weight loss in MMA directly with Karlos Vémola himself, Patrik Kincle and a health expert. You can read about their opinion on brutal weight loss in combat sports and the risks of this process here.
