Jakarta – Kimberly Ryder and Edward Akbar’s domestic drama continues. This time, Kimberly’s mother, Irvina Zainal, also spoke about the domestic violence (domestic violence) that her daughter suffered.
Irvina even admitted that she was very sad and angry with her daughter-in-law about the incident.
In the divorce trial held at the Jakarta Central Religious Court on Wednesday (25/9/2024), Irvina revealed that although she knew about domestic violence, she felt grateful that Kimberly did not suffer serious physical injury.
“Thank God, my child was not hit, he was not destroyed. Thank God, he was saved,” said Irvina when he met in court.
According to Irvina’s confession, this incident had happened since 2019. However, Kimberly covered it up and only told her mother this year.
“When I found out, it was like fire was coming out, I was very angry. But what, my child was there,” he continued.
Kimberly’s lawyer, Machi Ahmad, also confirmed that Kimberly had filed a domestic violence report with the Pondok Aren Police.
“In the past, Kimberly reported domestic violence,” Machi explained.
This incident was one of the reasons Kimberly filed for divorce from Edward.
Even though Kimberly has prepared evidence of domestic violence and witnesses, the divorce trial must be postponed this time. Edward’s party was still not ready except for evidence, so the judge decided to postpone the trial until October 2024.
It seems that Kimberly is still reluctant to discuss further the details of the domestic violence she experienced.
“There’s no need to talk about it,” he said shortly when asked by the media.
