Kim Putters appointed as New Informant by House of Representatives

ANP Chamber Chairman hands over the assignment to informant Kim Putters

NOS Nieuws•vandaag, 19:17

The House of Representatives has approved the proposal by PVV leader Geert Wilders to appoint SER chairman Kim Putters as a new informant. That is the outcome of the debate on the final report of former informant Plasterk. Putters immediately accepted his assignment in the House of Representatives this evening.

Not all factions agreed, but despite the criticism there is a lot of support for the proposal. The four negotiating parties until recently, PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB, voted in favor as expected. They received support from SP, D66, ChristenUnie, SGP, CDA, JA21 and FvD. GL-PvdA, Party for the Animals and Volt voted against.

Putters has been given a broad assignment. He must look for “fruitful political cooperation that does justice to the election results, including the major shifts that have taken place.”

He will have a maximum of four weeks to do this. Wilders wants him to talk to all factions about a form of cooperation that will lead to a cabinet and government agreements.

Not even

PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB said in today’s parliamentary debate that they would once again cooperate fully in this. They did not yet agree on the form of collaboration; whether it should be an additional parliamentary, tolerating or minority cabinet, or some other construction.

Other parties, such as GL-PvdA and D66, were less enthusiastic about another ‘broad’ round of talks instead of the PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB sitting around the table. They think that the round of discussions will come down to that anyway, and that time will be lost.
