Kim Kardashian wears Marilyn Monroe dress, Billie Eilish goes for light green: star parade at Met Gala

Reality star Kim Kardashian appeared in the gold glitter dress Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962 when she shouted “Happy birthday, Mr. President” sang for John F. Kennedy. That dress is normally kept in a temperature-controlled safe. After a few minutes of posing on the red carpet, Kardashian changed his clothes again.

Kim Kardashian said she lost over 7 pounds in three weeks to fit into the dress. “It was such a challenge. It was like a roll. I was determined to fit into this.” Kardashian had appeared on the red carpet holding hands with her boyfriend, comedian Pete Davidson. He kept it relatively simple, in a black suit.

Then other men were dressed more glamorously. Rock star Lenny Kravitz pulled himself into a corset, as did actor Ben Platt.

And what about our own Stromae? He also shone on the red carpet with a blue checkered outfit from his own fashion label Mosaert and a new haircut.

Actor and recording artist Jared Leto, who starred in the film House of Gucci acted, arrived along with Gucci designer Alessandro Michele in identical outfits. Because their hair is also almost the same color, it was styled in the same way and both gentlemen have full beards, they looked like twin brothers.

One of the most spectacular entrances was made by Blake Lively. She had her copper-colored dress unfold into a turquoise train, an ode to the color that bronze buildings take over time, according to the actress.

Also artists Alicia Keys and Lizzo, model Gigi Hadid and actress Sarah Jessica Parker, among others, ventured on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in huge dresses with meter-long trains or gigantic cloaks.

Former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton attended for the first time in more than twenty years and chose a wine red ball gown with the names of 60 inspiring women embroidered on it.

Then Cara Delevingne had less to say. The model/actress took off her red blazer, but adhered to the “gilded glamour” dress code: she wore gold body paint.

Billie Eilish, on the other hand, received a lot of praise for her light green Gucci dress, which is straight from the popular series Bridgerton seemed to come. The actress said that it was made from recycled materials, and therefore ecologically responsible.

Eric Adams, mayor of New York, also stood out with a suit vest in which symbols of the New York subway were incorporated. On the back was written “End gun violence”.

Actress Vanessa Hudgens was responsible for one of the most daring dresses of the evening. She appeared in a black creation that breathed gothic Moschino, with lace train and accents to cover her bosom. The transparent bottom showed the star’s lace thong.

Are you also a fan of lace and voile? Bella Hadid, who combined the sexy fabric with a latex corset from Burberry.

Hypnotic: that’s the best way to describe singer Ciara’s outfit. She went for an asymmetrical Michael Kors dress with a tangle of black and silver lines, which together form a zebra pattern.

Always good for a top combination at a leading fashion event: Kate Moss and her daughter Lila Grace. Moss went for a black blazer dress with velvet from Burberry, daughter showed a custom made naked dress from the same fashion house.

The Met Gala stands for exuberant couture, something that fashion fan and doppelgänger of Jared Leto, Fredrik Robertsson, can get away with in an extremely futuristic design by Iris van Herpen.

Black and white was also Hailey Bieber’s idea. She went for a white Saint Laurent dress with black nylon stockings, a daring combo.

Should there still be gold chains? Cardi B dressed head to toe in gold-colored jewelry from Atelier Versace.

A ruffled skirt and a sheer top from Prada made Kendall Jenner one of the best-dressed stars of the night.

Sister Kylie Jenner did it in virgin white, but make no mistake, she didn’t get married at the gala. She did wear a kind of wedding dress from Off-White, as a tribute to the designer Virgil Abloh, who died in November.
