Reality TV star Kim Kardashian will executive produce and appear in an upcoming docuseries about the late Elizabeth Taylor.
The BBC Arts-commissioned three-part documentary, tentatively titled Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar, comes from production company Passion Pictures, which won the Oscar for the documentary Searching for Sugar Man.
“Elizabeth Taylor was herself, an unapologetic fighter,” Kardashian said of the Hollywood legend. “She is proof that you can continue to evolve, change, and have different chapters in your life. “She forged the path for all of us who followed her with that plan.”
The series will feature “privileged access to those who knew her best, including members of Elizabeth Taylor’s family, friends and colleagues throughout her stellar career,” as a description of the show reads.
The series will focus on the artist who transformed not only Hollywood but fame itself, going from being a child star to the highest-paid actress in the world.
It will also draw on never-before-seen audiotapes, interviews, and television footage, interspersed with clips from Taylor’s film archives.
The production will include interviews with a wide range of celebrities who knew her, including Kardashian, who conducted the last interview with her before the actress’ death in March 2011 at age 79. (AND)
