Kim Kardashian is being talked about on social media after making a big mistake when she was doing a live broadcast with her daughter North West on TikTok.
The socialite and her daughter have become very popular on said platform for the funny videos they record and the way in which they have approached fans through these dynamics, however, this time it was not funny that she was wrong as did.
Kim was reading the comments sent by her followers when suddenly flags began to appear. His daughter asked him what country he was from, to which the reality star responded “Brazil,” when in reality it was Palestine.
“What is that flag?” asks 10-year-old North West. Kim responds confidently: “That’s Brazil. “That’s where Neymar is from, because we’re talking about the whole topic of football.”
The issue of Palestine is especially sensitive right now due to the war between Israel and Hamas that continues to devastate the Middle East. Thousands of people have died and others are missing, in addition to those who have lost everything due to the bombings.
It was for this reason that dozens of viewers began to send the Palestinian flag in Kim Kardashian’s live stream as a show of solidarity to the civilians trapped in Gaza after the terrorist attacks against Israel.
The socialite not only confused the flags but also “offended” that she seemed so confident even when mentioning Neymar and “the topic of soccer.”
Immediately, mockery and insults began to flood the broadcast, so Kim discreetly tried to close the session with the excuse that they would continue on Twitter.
Surprisingly many came to Kim’s defense, suggesting that he lied on purpose to protect North from learning about the atrocities occurring in the war.
Others criticized her for not kindly explaining the truth to her daughter, with some pointing out that North could easily read the new comments saying it was a Palestinian flag. And even more pointed out that other members of North’s family, including Kylie Jenner, had shared messages in support of Israel, meaning North would already be relatively aware of the war.
Kim previously spoke out about the Hamas attack, saying online that she was “devastated” by the “horrible images” seen around the world, but wants those suffering to know that they are “not alone” in the midst of the terror.
In a statement posted on Instagram, he said: “A message to my Jewish friends and family. I love you. I support you. I have heard about the fear you feel during this time and I want you to know that you are not alone in this. My heart is broken watching the videos of these babies and families being terrorized and murdered in front of the entire world! As human beings with hearts, how can anyone not be devastated by these horrible images that we can never unsee? Brutal terrorism has claimed innocent lives and now both Israeli and Palestinian civilians are suffering and paying the highest price there is.”
