They are officially single! On March 2, 2022, Kim Kardashian (41) and Kanye West (44) have legally divorced in Los Angeles Superior Court. Now the star of the reality TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians (who had been married to the rapper since 2014) will therefore no longer bear the name of her ex-husband. During a hearing with Judge Steve Cochran, Kanye West’s new attorney Samantha Spector said her client had “no problem“with the fact that Kim Kardashian is getting her name back but on the other hand was more concerned about her”assets” and his “interests“.
Obviously thrilled to part ways with the rapper,”Kim smiled after the judge read the questions and told her she was regaining her single status“. A state of mind that unfortunately does not seem to be shared by Kanye West, who notably had roses delivered to the mother of his children in the hope of winning her back on Valentine’s Day.
Mr. West’s goal is to prevent Ms. Kardashian’s remarriage
The rapper’s lawyer – who appeared with Julia Fox (32) or Chaney Jones (24) – also said “that there are many custody issues that need to be resolved“. To which Kim Kardashian’s lawyer would have replied, in a rather dry tone: “I don’t think so, Your Honor. There were no problems last yearAs a reminder, the couple has four children: two girls, North and Chicago (8 and 4 years old respectively) and two boys, Saint and Psalm (6 and 2 years old).
Previously, Kim Kardashian’s lawyer had already denounced Kanye West’s behavior in court documents dating from February 2022. “Clearly Mr. West’s goal is to prevent or make it difficult for Ms. Kardashian to remarry” could we read in particular.
As a reminder, the daughter of Bruce Jenner now in a relationship with Pete Davidson had revealed the real reasons for her divorce with the one now nicknamed Ye during an interview on the show Saturday Night Live : “I married the best rapper of all time (…) Not only that; he is the richest black man in America (…) So when I divorced, you must know that it was played on one thing only: his personality.“
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will be before the judge again on August 5, 2022 to discuss the aftermath of their divorce.
