Kim Jong-un’s wife described as ‘dirty’, angry North Korea

PYONGYANG – the regime Kim Jong-un who rules North Korea (Korur) was angry with anti-regime propaganda leaflets launched by defectors from South Korea. Anger was triggered by leaflet material that portrays Kim’s wife as a “dirty” figure.

The resentment reaction of the North Korean government was revealed by the Russian Ambassador in Pyongyang, Alexander Matsegora. According to him, the reaction was made in a series of strong government condemnation of the group of defectors over the past few weeks.

Usually, Kim’s anti-regime propaganda leaflets are attached to air balloons or float in bottles that cross from South Korea to North Korea.

Propaganda campaigns by defector groups have long been a point of contention between the two Koreas. However, this time, Pyongyang increased its pressure on Seoul to act, including by blowing up the two Korean liaison offices and threatening to launch military action.

One of the most recent leaflet launches, which took place on May 31, contained material that portrayed North Korean First Lady Ri Sol-ju as a “dirty” figure. According to Ambassador Matsegora, the description was outrageous and provoked serious anger in Pyongyang.

Russia is one of North Korea’s main allies and Matsegora is one of Pyongyang’s longest-serving ambassadors.

“The leaflet contains dirty and derogatory propaganda, specifically aimed at the leader couple (Kim Jong-un),” Matsegora was quoted as saying by the news agency TASS, Tuesday (6/30/2020).

“They are depicted in a low-level way,” he said. (Read: Office 39, North Korea’s Dark Headquarters Becomes Kim Jong-un’s ‘Money Machine’)

The Russian diplomat also dismissed speculation that Kim Jong-un’s younger sister, Kim Yo-jong, was being trained as the next North Korean leader.

Since the beginning of June, Kim Yo-jong, who served as her sister’s main advisor, has been a very aggressive “face” of Pyongyang against South Korea on the backs of North Korean defectors.

“Despite serious political experience and foreign policy, Kim Yo-jong is still rather young,” said the Moscow diplomat.

“There is absolutely no reason to say that he is being trained to take the wheel (of North Korea),” Matsegora said.

“Nobody dares to call himself number two in this country,” he said, referring to Kim Yo-jong.

“I think if you ask friend Kim Yo-jong if he is number two, he will answer ‘no’ strongly.”
