Kim Jong Un arrived by train in the city of Komsomolsk on the Amur, a TASS correspondent reported, specifying that the North Korean leader went to the city’s aircraft factory.

Kim was greeted at the city’s train station with a red carpet by the governor of Khabarovsk Krai and other officials. He then went to the Yuri Gagarin Aviation Plant, which produces the most advanced Russian Su-35 and Su-57 fighter jets, as well as civilian aircraft.

Kim Jong Un is in Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. On September 13, negotiations between the two took place at the “Vostochny” cosmodrome – both with the participation of delegations and privately.

Russia is the first country Kim has visited since the beginning of the covid pandemic. His previous visit to the country was in April 2019. Then he and Putin talked in Vladivostok, and it was their first meeting.

On his current visit, Kim Jong-un called relations with Russia a top priority and pledged full support for President Vladimir Putin and his government. Ahead of the one-on-one meeting, the North Korean leader said his country fully and unconditionally supports the “holy war” that Russia is waging to protect its security interests. The two sides agreed to further strengthen strategic and tactical cooperation in the face of “military threats, provocations and tyranny of the imperialists.” Kim invited the Russian president to visit North Korea and he accepted.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said yesterday that the official part of Kim Jong-un’s state visit had ended and he was expected to visit defense industry plants and other enterprises in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, as well as inspect Russia’s Pacific Fleet in Vladivostok.
