Jakarta –
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was seen using a Hyundai Staria as his bodyguard during a visit to Russia. The Hyundai logo is clearly visible on the front of the car.
Kim Jong Un recently visited Russia to meet with Vladimir Putin. During the meeting, Kim was known to have brought a Mercedes-Benz S 600 Pullman Guard directly using a bulletproof armored train.
Caught in the act in Russia
Another interesting thing that was revealed was that Kim Jong Un’s bodyguard car while in Russia was a Hyundai Staria. There were around four Hyundai Starias guarding Kim Jong Un’s car on the side as seen in the documentary uploaded by Korean Central Television as reported by Daum Chosun Ilbo. The ‘H’ logo in the middle of the Hyundai Staria is closed. However, there are two cars whose logos have not been covered and it is clear that they are Staria.
This is an unusual step for North Korea to expose the Hyundai Motor Company logo. Previously, when North Korea broadcast the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Hyundai’s advertising was changed to be disguised with a mosaic shape. This effort was allegedly made to hide the fact that there were Korean companies advertising at events like the World Cup.
Even though it is also known that buses produced by Hyundai Motors once wandered around the Kaesong Industrial Complex, North Korea. For this reason, Hyundai products are actually familiar to North Korean citizens.
Regarding cars in North Korea, the country is actually sanctioned for importing luxury goods, including cars. It is not known for certain how Kim Jong Un acquired these cars. The reason is, the Hyundai Staria is classified as a new vehicle.
Hyundai Staria in Indonesia
In Indonesia, the first Hyundai Staria will launch in 2021. This car is a challenger to the Toyota Alphard. To challenge the Alphard, the interior has been transformed in a way that makes passengers comfortable. Hyundai Staria has various systems and sensors which are part of reliable safety technology to provide warnings to users and help take preventative action in collision situations.
Safety technology can help make journeys safer and also support drivers to identify potential hazards, and help reduce the risk of accidents.
Among other things, there is Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), which is a system that automatically warns of the potential risk of a collision from the front, and if necessary, will automatically apply braking if the system assesses that a collision will occur with a vehicle or pedestrian in front of the car.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) and Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Warning (BCW) can detect and monitor vehicles coming from behind and help avoid collisions by providing a warning and automatically applying the brakes if necessary. The system now also covers situations when exiting a parallel parking position.
This car is equipped with typical Hyundai car features that are not found in other cars, such as the Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM which displays the blind spot area at the rear of the vehicle, and the BVM visual display is located on the car cluster panel when driving. The BVM will function if the lights The turn signal is activated in situations where the driver wants to change lanes while driving.
Other distinctive features are Safe Exit Assist (SEA) and Safe Exit Warning (SEW), which can help avoid accidents if passengers in the second row get out of the car and there is a vehicle coming from behind.
