Kim Jong Un visits the funeral for Chinese soldiers who died during the Korean War

KONTAN.CO.ID – SEOUL. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visits the funeral for Chinese soldiers who died during the 1950-1953 Korean War to mark the anniversary of China’s participation in the conflict.

Kim visited the “Chinese People’s Volunteer (CPV) martyrs” in Hoechang, South Pyongan Province, and paid high tribute to them on the 70th anniversary of the CPV’s entry onto the Korean front.

Hoechang was the headquarters of the Chinese army during the Korean War.

“He (Kim) said with deep emotion, even though 70 years have passed since the extraordinary sons and daughters of the Chinese people’s brotherhood entered the War for the Liberation of the holy Motherland fought for by the Korean people, a heroic deed by the CPV in sacrificial support. we remain alive in the memories of our people, “said the North Korean news agency, KCNA, Thursday (22/10), as reported Yonhap.

Kim praised the participation of Chinese soldiers in the Korean War as “a historic contribution to the great victory in the War of Homeland Liberation”.

“The great victories won by the army and the people in the DPRK and China linking their destinies as one and sharing each other’s joys and sorrows is, indeed, very important, no matter how much blood flows under the bridge,” Kim was quoted as saying KCNA.

DPRK stands for North Korea’s official name, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Kim then paid tribute to Mao Anying, the son of the late Chinese leader Mao Zedong, who was killed in the Korean War. A wreath of flowers Kim placed at Mao Anying’s tomb.
