Kim Jong-un showed off a new nuclear missile at a parade in North Korea

According to the publication, a column of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) of North Korea drove along Kim Il Sung Square in honor of the anniversary of the founding of the Korean People’s Army, demonstrating the “maximum potential” of the authoritarian state’s nuclear capabilities.

The North Korean regime presented “tactical nuclear installations” as a demonstration of its “war deterrence and counterstrike capabilities.”

Yonhap added that photographs from the parade show Hwasong-17 ballistic missiles, as well as, presumably, a new ICBM that was mounted on an 18-wheel transport and recovery launcher.

According to the publication, the specifics of the new missile remain unknown, but its presence has prompted speculation that it could be a solid-propellant missile that North Korea is seeking to build.
