Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – North Korean leader (Korut) Kim Jong Un reportedly ordered the extermination of cats and pigeons in the border area. The animal is considered to be able to transmit the corona virus (Covid-19).
Orders were issued in Hyesan, Yanggang Province, Sinuiju and a number of other border areas. North Koreans have reportedly been seen shooting birds flying over the border from China to stray cats and cats that already have an employer.
In fact, every Hyesan resident who owns a cat must report that his pet has died. Officers also carried out inspections of a number of houses and settlements.
North Korean legal authorities also do not hesitate to isolate and punish families who are still caught keeping cats. The threat is not a figment because there are already victims.
“The family was given a 20-day sentence in isolation for illegally keeping a cat after the government banned it in the border area,” said an official source in Yanggang Province.
For information, the decision to exterminate cats and pigeons was made after Kim Jong Un banned all Chinese medicines in major hospitals in the capital Pyongyang. In addition, Kim Jong Un has also told researchers to stop clinical trials of China’s Covid-19 vaccine and start producing vaccines independently.
There is no official reason for the leader to do so. China was previously North Korea’s main trading partner. North Korea has so far claimed to have zero cases of coronavirus. However, some people do not believe this.
