North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Friday ordered the military to step up exercises for “real war”, reported “Reuters”. He made the announcement after overseeing an exercise that showed the country’s ability to withstand “actual war”.
North Korea fired a short-range ballistic missile off its west coast on Thursday, South Korea’s military said, adding that analyzed the possibility that the North had fired several missiles simultaneously from the same area.
Pictures released by the North’s KCNA news agency showed at least six rockets fired simultaneously.
KCNA said a unit trained for “strike missions” fired a “powerful salvo at targeted waters” and demonstrated its ability to “counter a real war”.

The North is ready to take action against hostilities
Kim has emphasized that the fire attack units must be rigorously prepared for the utmost perfection in the execution of the two strategic missions, i.e., firstly, to deter war and secondly, to take the initiative in war, through constant reinforcement of various simulated real war training.
Kim was accompanied by his young daughter, which recently appeared in a series of major events.
The latest missile launches came as the United States and South Korea were set to begin large-scale military exercises known as the Freedom Shield exercise next week. North Korea has long bristled at allied exercises as a rehearsal for an invasion.
North Korean leader Kim’s sister, Kim Yo-chen, said earlier this week each move to shoot down one of his test missiles would be considered a declaration of war and blamed joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea for the rising tensions.
The US Indo-Pacific Command said that the last launch is not a threat for the United States or its allies, but Pyongyang’s weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs are having a destabilizing effect on the region.
