As reported Reuters, Saturday (16/9/2023), apart from observing Russian bombers, Kim Jong Un also observed hypersonic missiles and warships made by Moscow during his visit. Knevichi airfield is known to be about 50 kilometers from the city of Vladivostok on the shores of the Pacific Ocean.

Kim Jong Un appeared to be smiling when he was greeted by Shoigu, who gave him respectful greetings, when he arrived in Knevichi on Saturday (16/9) local time. Kim Jong Un then conducted an honor guard inspection ceremony.

Shoigu then showed Kim Jong Un several Russian strategic bombers, namely the Tu-160, Tu-95 and Tu-22M3, which are capable of carrying nuclear weapons and are the backbone of Russia’s nuclear air attack force.

“This plane can fly from Moscow to Japan, and then fly back again,” Shoigu told Kim Jong Un discussing one of the Russian-made planes.

Kim Jong Un was then seen asking about how the missiles were fired from the planes, then he sometimes nodded and smiled.

During the visit, Shoigu also demonstrated the equipped MiG-31I supersonic interceptor aircraft Kinzhal hypersonic missile to Kim Jong Un. The Kinzhal hypersonic missile, which means dagger, is an air-launched ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear or conventional warhead.
