When a rock queen meets the prince of American contemporary art, sparks fly! On the one hand: Kim Deal (born 1961), former member of Pixies, a legendary group of the 1990s, and founder of the Breeders (the powerful riff of “Cannonball”it’s her). On the other: Alex Da Corte (born 1980), transdisciplinary artist, best known for his immersive environments and videos.
Here is the winning duo which, with le clip de « Crystal Breath » directed by the visual artist, announces the musician’s first solo project. An album entitled Nobody Loves You More is due out on November 22nd on the famous British independent label 4AD. The cover of this albumin which the singer poses on a mini circular stage floating on water, alongside colorful guitar amps, a stool with legs surrounding a planet and a pink flamingo, is also by Alex Da Corte.

Green screen and effects glitch
The exuberance that usually characterizes the work of Alex Da Corte, and that he has already put to the service of several clips of the singer St. Vincent, gives way in the clip of “Crystal Breath” to a certain sobriety. Kim Deal’s silhouette is thus simply embedded on a green background, on which all sorts of effects parade. glitch, evoking the bugs of old televisions cathode ray tubes.
