Kilograms of Culture 2020 Autumn Voting Winners / Day announced

The autumn vote put to the fore works created between 1 May and 31 August this year, including those created during the emergency.

In the category Music nominated for the final:

Jurmala festival concert Dedication to Maris Janson July 29. Dzintari Concert Hall, LNSO, soloist Kristīne Balanas, conductor Andris Poga.

In the category Theater put forward:

Webcast Iran Conference. Director Elmārs Sņkovs.

In the category Visual arts put forward:

Skuja Braden exhibition Samsara. Museum of Decorative Arts and Design, curator Irēna Bužinska.

In the category Literature put forward:

Paul Bankovsky’s novel World history. Publishing house Book of the Day.

In the category Heritage put forward:

Evi Upeniece’s 95th anniversary exhibition Daughter of the Earth. Art space Aminori, curator Marika Rozenberga.

In the category Surprise put forward:

Concert halls Latvia 1 year anniversary concert-performance One. Concert hall Latvia, authors of the creative concept Krista and Reinis Dzudzilo, conductor Aigars Meri.

In the category Event put forward:

Mežaparks Grand Stage has been put into operation (first stage reconstruction works have been completed). Riga City Council Property Department, general partnership LNK, RERE, Architects of Juris Poga and Austra Mailitis.

No nominees were put to the vote this time Kino. Given that the summer in the industry from the point of view of premieres was an “empty” period, in order to maintain healthy competition, the jury decided to evaluate cinematic events in a winter vote. Kilogram of culture 2020 the last, the winter vote, will take place in January 2021, when cultural events will be nominated for public evaluation from September to December 2020. After that, the works that have received the most support from viewers and listeners in the spring, autumn and winter votes will compete in the final vote.

Until 31 December 2020, everyone is invited to submit their favorite cultural places in the category My cultural place. It can be done here. The recommendations of the cultural sites are collected throughout the year, but it will only be possible to vote on them in the final vote in early 2021.
