We’re going back to the basics this season! So every Sunday you’ll find everything you need to know about French in the NBA here, so you don’t miss out on Killian Hayes’ progress or Rudy Gobert’s new life in his Wolves pack. This week ? Still great promises from the young tricolors, while the old ones park, grope and/or plateau.
#RUDI GOBERT
Two losses, a civil victory against the Thunder, and overall a week that will not go down in history. Wolves are fighting to chain wins, they are fighting to win, and Rudy was even able to watch a new demo from his replacement (catapulted keeper in his absence) Naz Reid against OKC. We’re not saying he’s going to steal his spot, eh, let’s just say he’s weird for a Wolves team with a 5-handed attacking position.
- Wolves @ Blazers: 16 points on 8/13 shooting and 0/1 shooting, 20 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 32 minutes
- Wolves @ Clippers: 11 points on 3/5 shooting and 5/7 throwing, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks in 32 minutes
- Wolves @ Thunder: DNP
#EVAN FOURNIER
The Knicks went on a six-game hitting streak, but unfortunately Evan had nothing to do with it. Still no basketball since November 13 for Vavane, we don’t know his franchise’s plan for him, but we would like him to speed it up a bit.
- Knicks vs. Kings: DNP
- Knicks @ Bulls: DNP
- Knicks @ Bulls: DNP
#NICOLA BATUM
The quiet strength, which especially this week had to “adapt” to the return with great or almost pomp of Kawhi Leonard. He has seen other Nico. If Norman Powell, John Wall and very recently Luke Kennard are doing the work off the bench, we still have the right to question whether Nico would not be the best replacement for his team. In any case he is the most useful, the statistics don’t tell everything but he watches Clippers games and you will understand.
- Clippers vs Celtics: 7 points on 2/2 shooting including 1/1 from the park and 2/2 in throwing, 7 rebounds and 2 steals in 27 minutes
- Clippers vs Wolves: 13 points on 5/9 shooting including 3/7 from the parking lot, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in 31 minutes
- Clippers vs Suns: 3 1/2 points from the parking lot, 1 rebound and 1 assist in 10 minutes
- Clippers vs Wizards: 8 points on 3/7 shooting including 2/4 from the parking lot, 7 rebounds and 1 block in 33 minutes
# FRANK DOESN’T PLAY
He played a lot this week, but unfortunately didn’t take the opportunity to validate performance scoring, typically what Franky would need to land a real spot on Jason Kidd’s roster. Beware slippery slope.
- Mavericks vs Thunder: 6 points in 1/4 parking and 3/4 passing, 1 rebound, 2 assists and 1 block in 18 minutes
- Mavericks vs Cavs: 0 points on 0/2 shooting and 3 rebounds in 12 minutes
- Mavericks vs Blazers: 8 points on 3/4 shooting including 2/3 from the parking lot, 3 rebounds and 1 assist in 28 minutes
- Mavericks @ Cavs: 3 points at 1/6 of which 0/4 from parking and 1/3 from throws and 5 assists in 22 minutes
#KILLIAN HAYES
Killian remains the French revelation of this start to the season, and his match at Charlotte is yet another line to add to his 2022-23 CV. The return of LaMelo Ball? Let’s take this opportunity to put down a little mixtape and remind everyone that the timid career start could be behind him, definitely. Cade Cunningham absent all season, the opportunity to settle in, quite simply.
- Pistons vs Lakers: 5 points on 2/6 shooting including 1/2 from the park, 3 rebounds, 9 assists and 1 steal in 25 minutes
- Pistons @ Hornets: 25 points on 9/19 shooting including 5/11 from the parking lot and 2/5 in passing, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in 24 minutes
- Pistons vs Kings: 11 points on 4/10 shooting including 1/5 from the park and 2/2 in throwing, 1 rebound and 4 assists in 29 minutes
# OUSMANE DIENG
He was solid last week in the NBA (against the Hawks), very solid midweek in Utah (in the G League), but unfortunately Ousmane Dieng broke his wrist (again) and we will never see him again. before February.
- Thunder @ Mavericks: DNP
- Thunder vs. Heat: DNP
- Thunder against Wolves: DNP
- Thunder vs. Grizzlies: DNP
#THEO MALEDONTE
The return of LaMelo Ball obviously didn’t help Theo Maledon’s minutes, but the tanking operation launched in Charlotte is perhaps good news for the French leader, in a team that is – already – doing everything possible not to win any games .
- Hornets @ Sixers: 9 points on 1/5 shooting including 1/2 from the park and 6/6 on throwing, 1 assist and 1 steal in 16 minutes
- Hornets vs Hawks: 3 points on 15 shooting including 1/3 from the parking lot, 2 rebounds and 1 assist in 15 minutes
# DIABATE MOUSSE
Forget Joel Embiid, Rudy Gobert and Victor Wembanyama, he’s our dominant insider for the 2024 Games. Are we overreacting? Sort of, but still Moussa’s great G League performance last week (elected player of the week) gave him six sesame days for the NBA and also a first term last night against the Wizards. One more effort and Ivica Zubac will have to swim back to Croatia to make room for him.
- Clippers vs Celtics: 2 1/2 points shooting and 3 rebounds in 3 minutes
- Cutters against wolves: DNP
- Clippers vs Suns: 8 points on 4/9 shooting and 0/1 shooting, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal in 16 minutes
- Clippers vs Wizards: 2 1/2 points shooting and 2 rebounds in 18 minutes
And in the G league

- Delaware Blue Coats @ Westchester Knicks: DNP
