The funeral of Sharon Verzeni, the 33-year-old woman killed during the night between Monday and Tuesday while walking in Terno d’Isola, where she had been living with her partner for three years, will be held tomorrow morning at 10:00 in the parish church of Bottanuco, her hometown. The body was in fact returned to her family – her partner and parents – after the authorization of the Prosecutor’s Office, once the autopsy performed yesterday afternoon at the Papa Giovanni XXIII hospital in Bergamo was completed.
A day of mourning has been declared in Bottanuco, the town in the province of Bergamo where she grew up and where the funeral of Sharon Verzeni, who was stabbed to death in the street during the night between Monday and Tuesday, will be held tomorrow in the parish church of San Vittore Martire. On the occasion of the funeral ceremony, Mayor Rossano Pirola has ordered the closure of commercial businesses from 10 to 11 a.m. and the display of flags at half-mast in the Town Hall. Tomorrow, given the large number of people waiting for the funeral, he has also ordered the closure to traffic of the stretch of road in Piazza San Vittore in front of the Town Hall. The invitation to all citizens is to participate in “the demonstration of condolence” for Sharon, “daughter of this community”.
