(ANSA) – PAVIA, 03 APR – The trial of Massimo Adriatici, 49-year-old lawyer, former Northern League security councilor of Voghera, accused of negligent excess of self-defense for the death, resumed today in a courtroom of the Court of Pavia of Youns El Bossettaoui, killed on the evening of July 20, 2021 by a shot fired from his gun in Piazza Meardi in the city of Oltrepò. The victim, a 39-year-old of Moroccan origins struggling with psychological problems who lived on the streets, died from bleeding caused by the bullet. At the opening of this second hearing (the trial began last February 2nd) the agreement reached between Adriatici’s defenders (lawyers Gabriele Pipicelli and Luca Gastini) and the lawyer of the victim’s widow was announced, to allow the accused to access the institution of “restorative justice”. During the hearing it emerged that the agreement provides for financial compensation of approximately 250 thousand euros. The lawyer of the widow (mother of two minor children) had asked that the former councilor apologize publicly. Adriatici preferred to present a letter in which he expressed his regret for the death of Youns El Bossettaoui: the apology, his lawyers explained, would have been an admission of guilt which the accused rejects. Adriatici, unlike the first hearing, is present in the courtroom today. The former councilor initially asked not to be photographed or filmed by cameras. (HANDLE).
